Service Description
This training will provide an overview of directive play therapy and the benefits of using it with children and adolescents. Presenters will discuss and demonstrate directive play therapy interventions that can be utilized with a variety of issues including mood disorders, ADHD, and emotional expression. Through this experiential training, participants will have the opportunity to directly apply some of these interventions in their daily practice. This workshop will also provide participants with an understanding of how to process and select the interventions. Objectives: 1. Recognize the difference between nondirective and directive play therapy. 2. Identify the therapeutic benefits of using directive play therapy interventions. 3. Understand how to process directive play therapy interventions. 4. Identify goals associated with directive play therapy. 5. Utilize and put into practice a variety of directive play therapy activities. 6. Verbalize at least 3 activities for use with families and groups.
