Service Description
We are excited to offer a special one-day training event featuring two courses: ADHD and Play Therapy (3 CEs) - This workshop is designed to provide participants with an understanding of using play therapy as a therapeutic approach for children with ADHD. Participants will delve into the theoretical foundations of play therapy and its relevance in addressing ADHD symptoms. Practical strategies for creating engaging and effective play therapy sessions will be explored, including techniques for enhancing emotional regulation, attention, and social skills. A Play Therapist's Guide to a Child's Wiring (3 CEs) -This workshop will explore the four classic temperament styles in children—sanguine, choleric, melancholic, and phlegmatic—and will help clinicians discover how understanding these traits can enhance attunement, responsiveness, and effectiveness in play therapy sessions. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of each temperament’s core strengths and vulnerabilities, including how these traits show up in the playroom. For example, the energetic, outgoing Sanguine child may thrive in expressive play but struggle with follow-through, while the goal-oriented Choleric child may challenge limits but respond well to leadership roles. The sensitive, reflective Melancholic child may benefit from deep, symbolic play and a sense of predictability, while the calm and agreeable Phlegmatic child may require gentle prompting to express emotions and assert needs.
